We’re looking for a Staff / Senior Staff Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale the data infrastructure that powers Neynar data products and APIs. You’ll spearhead efforts to index multiple blockchains, architect large-scale distributed systems, and ensure our databases stay fast, resilient, and secure as we grow. Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end blockchain indexing pipelines — from on-chain data ingestion to queryable, low-latency APIs.
• Design and operate large, highly-available databases (PostgreSQL, BigQuery, etc.) capable of handling terabytes of rapidly changing data.
• Architect distributed systems and microservices that scale horizontally and remain resilient under heavy load.
• Optimize data storage, caching, and query performance to deliver sub-second responses for complex analytics workloads.
• Collaborate with product & frontend teams to define clean API contracts and shape new features.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years professional backend development experience, with 3+ years leading critical production systems.
• Deep expertise in blockchain data indexing (e.g., EVM, Solana) and familiarity with common node infrastructures.
• Proven track record scaling large relational and/or column-oriented databases (sharding, partitioning, replication, backup strategies).
• Proficiency in Go, Rust, or TypeScript/Node.js—and a willingness to pick up the best tool for the task.
• Observability mindset: metrics, structured logging, tracing, and alerting.
